The "Mom Dinner Reimagined", hosted by The Mom Connection, is a welcoming sit-down dinner with a group of inspiring, local moms to converse and merge worlds. This night will be filled with authentic connection, elevated conversation, and a healthy dose of inspiration. Our special dinner guest will be Emily Silver, Co-Founder of Nurture by NAPS.
The Mom Connection was BUSY last spring - a good busy! SIX Toddler Mom sessions, THREE Mom Talk events, TWO information sessions, and COUNTLESS incredible phone calls with inspiring moms.
There were multiple times when I met someone who I wanted to get to know better. I wanted to have a dinner with the Mom Talk attendee who happens to be from Ireland. I also wanted to have a dinner with another Mom Talk attendee who has a son with a speech delay like my son, Johnny. And then there was someone who just moved to town, and is using our nanny from last summer. I wanted to have more opportunities to learn from each of these moms and connect with them!
WHY THIS IS DIFFICULT: I love getting to know new people, hearing their stories, finding connection and commonality, as well as what makes us different. Within the past three months, I wanted to schedule individual dinners with SO MANY MOMS, in addition to my Swampscott besties. But going on twenty different nightly mom dinner dates is unrealistic - from a financial standpoint and calendar standpoint. And part of the fun is bringing these awesome moms together in a smaller, intimate group setting to get to know each other, rather than having lots of 1:1 dinners.
THE SOLUTION: The Mom Dinner Reimagined!
More about our Guest Speaker & Facilitator, Emily Silver:
In my eyes, Emily is a ROCKSTAR. She is the real deal. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), a female business owner of Nurture by NAPS, and so much more. Emily’s passion for educating and supporting families stems from her personal experience dealing with loss. She lost a sister to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), has had multiple miscarriages, and has dealt with the anxiety and the stigma that comes with taking medication while pregnant and breastfeeding. You can be assured that taboo topics are just not taboo for Emily!
Emily began her career in General Medicine before working as a Labor & Delivery nurse, where she met NAPS co-founder Jamie O’Day. Emily best supports families through NAPS by pulling from her vast medical background, and her own experiences with pregnancy and parenting as a mother of three girls. She lives in Charlestown, MA with her husband, AJ, three daughters Grace (age 7), Madelyn (age 5), Eloise (age 1), and dog Maisey (age 9).
Flow of Dinner:
At The Landing Restarant, we will be at one long table, engaging in one conversation. This will not be a meal where you only talk to the 2 to 3 people around you - you will instead get to know the entire group.
During the three course meal, Emily Silver and Caroline Allen will lead everyone in an authentic, elevated whole-group conversation. Leveraging the camaraderie of the women around us, each mom will share a current reality or tricky situation. This can be something related to parenting, work, relationships - really anything! Each mom will have time to share and the group will then offer new ideas, experiences, and vantage points.
The goal will be for all moms to leave feeling deeply connected to the moms around them.
Capacity:
This dinner is limited to the first 12 moms who register.
Cost:
This dinner is $75 which includes the three course meal, tax, and gratuity for the meal. Beverages are not included in this price and will be paid separately per person.
